Changing For Someone

Updated on June 18, 2013

There is nothing quite like the sting

Of changing for someone

Only to find out

You are still not what they want

Some people spend years

Trying to fit into someone else's life

In a way that is irreplaceable

Only to be replaced anyway

It's such a bitter helplessness

To be willing to give anything

To be what someone needs

But knowing deep down

To them you'll aways be

A person of no importance

Vellur, you're absolutely right about not trying to change for someone. Thanks for the kind words!

Very true and well expressed. The lesson is not to change and be yourself. If someone wants you to change then there is no point of being in that relationship. Great poem and voted up.
