Little Green Dragon series

Previously I wrote about a series of children's books by a French author. (See Children's Books by Jacques Duquennoy.) The books aren't exactly new, having been published more than a decade ago, but the story is timeless as my preschool and elementary students still enjoy reading them. I love collecting children's books and I must say I found some really good ones at various book sales in the past.

This hub is about another series of children's books. This time the books are by German author Klaus Baumgart. As it turned out, I discovered that the little green dragon series isn't the only successful series that the author has produced. Read on to find out more.

Anna and the Little Green Dragon

Anna is all set for breakfast when something popped out of her cereal box. My, it's a little green dragon that is a little too adventurous. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars from 1 customer review. I liked this book because of the nice illustrations that go well with the simple texts. In addition, there is wit and humor that makes for fun reading. My students wanted to read this book again and again.

Laura's Star series

Unfortunately, Amazon won't post the pictures so I just added the links to the other Little Green Dragon books using the link capsule.

Anyway, I discovered that Klaus Baumgart also wrote another successful series of books, Laura's Star. The book became a German animated film in 2004, produced and directed by Thilo Rothkirch. It was also released by Warner Bros. Family Entertainment.

The film became the most successful animated film in German film history. It also received two awards in 2005: 1) Outstanding Children or Youth Film at the German Film Awards, and 2) Adult Jury Prize -- Animated Feature Film or Video at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival.
