Clock - A Poem

Updated on October 7, 2013

The clock ticks

Soundless to the constant passing crowd

The noise of life muffling the timeless sound

If you stop, you can hear the ticking clock

But only for a moment in a bustling world

A soundless room,

The ticking clock consumes

The moment you stop and consider

The clock is heard, each second counted and observed

But only if you truly listen

I just love this poem and the thought of it! So true! One must pay attention, be alert and aware to one's surroundings. Even more, in the case of a clock, it's ticking off one's life, one's opportunity to be aware!

Good poem, Leanne! And thank you for following me! Good wishes!

      Hi Nellieanna,

Thank you for your lovely comments. Sometimes life can become very hectic, and you need to take a step back and appreciate life! Hopefully that came across in the poem!

Best Wishes, I will be sure to follow your wonderful writing!

Mind is us and we are mind. Have we given it a thought when we're immersed in deep thoughts, we're deaf to even to the harshest of sounds and blind to the things in our sight ? "Clock- A Poem " is really a wonderful poem about our existence. Great work, Leanne1783. Voted up:-)
