Clouds of Senses

Updated on July 15, 2012
Overcast
The moon is awake
Beyond the clouds
A roaming breeze
Feeds the appetite
Of an otherwise calm afternoon

My thoughts are cast astray
Dangling my feet from the dock
Sensation is best saved for a rainy day
I'm on board
Daydreaming in the waters reflection

Peaceful
The world of arrogance has fallen into sleep
Out of consciousness
Far from reach
As i recover my humanity
Beside the beach
Allowing the water to touch my feet

Voices of gulls
The sound of sweet music
Cradles me in a trance
Stars are appearing,
Enhancing the feeling
Memories worth stealing
By second glance

Happiness can be found naturally
Setting yourself aside
Allowing your mind to flee

This life may deceive me,
But never will beat me
As i provide my only chance

My eyes drift to the oceans edge
Like a razor gliding across glass

People don't mind their ignorance
Stepping in quicksand,
I like to be the one to pull the rope from their hand
Watching them sink idly
Knowing the world is in my hands
