Desire’s destination promises treasure,

Cobblestone’s journey is a great adventure,

Between cobblestones always seen is measure,

Measure dares my old wisdom’s new venture.

Lines from measures are our life’s amazing maze,

Turns left and right, dead end, go back, start again,

A Dove above sees journey’s end giving praise,

Giants step easily over seen are but cracks.

I’m but only a small mouse, so cracks are leapt,

Surrounding are lines of maze each has their rule,

Each measure is a deep crevice, my eyes wept,

Purpose’s treasure asks “Am I but a fool”?

Surely faith will lead each leap’s new victory,

Trust assures journey's path become not adrift,

Alas, hope encourages belief’s mystery,

Destination without treasure, seen a gift.

A well written and enjoyable poem, Tim. Comparing life's journey to being like a mouse among cobblestones. Well done.

I liked this journey of a mouse traveling through the maze of cobblestone. Nicely expressed!

Hello Jodah, Eric, Michael, and Venkatachari! I 'believe' we each discover meaning with reflection. Before us each is a destination of promise, but the journey has obstacles. At times we are a dove, a giant, and, too, a mouse. Arriving to this poem's journey's end I did discover a gift . . . thank you!

Many times I feel like that mouse among cobblestone, but dreams come true only to those who are not afraid to dream. Such wonderful imagery in this poem, Mitch! Thank you for this poetic journey.
