Coffee Dreams: A Poem
Coffee dreams aren't always what they seem
I look to you for a hidden gleam
As I gaze at your eyes
They sure do mystify
Makes me wonder what's in my future
But my heart's gonna need more than just a suture
Can you promise me forever, dear?
Are your intentions for me quite clear?
Or are you an illusion sent from space?
A backboard for rebound or a resting place?
If you can't promise more than a lasting friendship
I'd sure appreciate some advice or a tip
But you know that I wish upon a star
For silent reveries, dreams from afar
Will you provide a lasting bond?
Or only to help me to drown in this lonely pond?....
