Cold as Fire (the Animals' Take on Pollution)
1. Hold me closer
I'm shivering, my dear
The feathers are all gone
and warmth as distant as the sun
Oh! She's dead!
My love's gone to her eternal bed.
How come these humans haven't learnt their power
To make it as cold as fire?
2. The weather's changing again, lads
Don't know when migration'll be on the cards
Last year we almost left it too late
And your uncle, my brother, got caught by ill fate
Never used to be this way
Until men started to try to keep nature at bay
Now there is a fight back, I gather
It'll soon be as cold as fire!
3. "Mama Seal, could you take baby a-fishing?
until I am done sunbathing?
Can't remember it being so warm in the arctic;
But, of course, they call me a lunatic!"
"Yes, dear, I'll do just what you say
Who knows, this could certainly be our best year.
Maybe the humans won't come to poach
and little Squiggley here will adulthood approach".
"Mama, Dada, should I then begin to aspire?
It's certainly as cold as fire!"
