i leave as i came

quietly

extending my blanket

softening the edges of cold

and as i turn to view

this long path

i see the pebbles of dreams and memories

shining brightly

each with its own story to tell

whispering verse

held tightly in my chest

as i unlock

the small colored locks

each

a moment

flowing outward

'Pebbles of dreams and memories,' Audrey, is such a pleasant way to phrase that thought. Stones or rocks just don't do it for me.

The painting (watercolor perhaps) is the perfect complement. This is a wonderful poem. I have read it through three times and each time I understood it on a different level. Lines to be jealous of?

"the pebbles of dreams and memories"

      "each -- a moment -- flowing outward"

      Simply wonderful. Sharing. Theresa
