Commitment - 16th word in the "Good Words" Project (Poem)

Updated on November 20, 2016

Commitment16th word in the "Good Words Project"

Commitment the 16th word in the "Good Words Project." When Jo 'Grace' Goldsmith told me about the project seventeen weeks ago, I made the commitment to write poem for each of the good words she gave us each week.

Good Words to practice using daily to live by their meaning and share with our fellow Hubbers and to encourage unknown writes to be the best we can be.

Commitment

I made the Commitment

To write a poem

And to practice

Each Good Word given each week

I could write a haiku

But that wouldn't do

Without enough words to express

Or explain their meaning to you

And so I must strive

To keep each word alive use

And as my friend billybuc says

Listen to my inspirational muse.

My Commitment is the assurance

My promise I will fulfill

To write a poem for each 'Good Word'

And let everyone know, I am committed still!

Fully Committed - Kingdom

I believe Trump (Commander Bone Spurs who dares question Admiral McCraven's judgment and patriotism) is committed to Putin and the destruction of this country. Will it take the entire 2 years Trump has left in his term? Will the traitors of this country return him to the presidency to finish the job if by some chance he hasn't completed it in 2020?

Change without a plan as to what should change and how, is idiocy. For now the courts seem to be checking Trump, including those judges he himself appointed, but only to a limited degree.

I really believe Trump is being paid by Russia, as was suggested months ago, to destroy this country. Since Trump's only allegiance is to himself and his bank accounts, he proves himself daily, to be only too willing to do Putin's bidding.

Hope you are well and staying warm. Blessings and hugs dear friend . . .

Commitment to good values never goes out of style. Sadly it seems lacking in some people, however. Enjoyed this poem of yours. Up votes and sharing.

My bible is nearby and I refer to it often. I know you were looking for something specific, did you find it?

Hope you are staying cool it is 101.8 right now as I type, I cooked my eyes yesterday and have to let them heal today. Sorry it took me so long to answer this.

Hope you have a great afternoon.

      Blessings and Hugs

Been reading my Bible again and that made me think of this poem and the importance of commitment. Just as believers expect Jesus to remember the commitment He has made to them, those of us who believe and have faith must remember we have a commitment to Jesus also.

I really love all of your poems. I think they all give people pause to think about something substantive, something that really matters, instead of the usual worldly things that will soon pass away, that seem to occupy the minds of so many.

Hope your day has been going well and that you've been able to enjoy the cooler cloudy weather. Blessings to you and John.

      Voting this up+ and sharing.

Wonderful words here on commitment, dear Shyron. The first thing that popped into my mind was marriage. I think that today many are not committed to taking their vows seriously. I have been married going on 36 years this year in September ... and that takes a lot of compromise too : )

      Blessings

Commitment carries a lot of responsibility, dependability, and duty with it. Surprising how few people are up to it compared to the 'old days.' Regarding marriage, if it lasts just 10 years it is considered a success

Voted up, AI, pinned to AH, and shared. Hope you are having a great weekend and getting some rest. So far, this weekend has not been usual for me and I have gotten only 4 hours of sleep since Friday morning. This sleep business is really killing me.

Kevin, I am committed. I believe in a saying I heard many years ago, “A person is only as good as their word” and that stuck with me.

Thank you my friend for sharing, pinning and voting this up, I appreciate you.

I can see that you are truly committed Shyron otherwise you would not still be writing these - which are great. This was beautiful. I shared it, pinned it and voted up.

Is it my imagination, or is there less and less commitment in society these days?

Thank you for mentioning me. I am honored.

A great word with such a strong expression. Many people fail to do so for the fear of might be and are afraid to face up to challenges.
