Rick Whitlow Newbie
Just wanting to get established here on Hubpages. This is my first Hub so I will keep it short for now. My passions are many and I plan to write in great depth about each of them. I am intrigued by the background of exciting and successful people. What drives them? and what road did they take to get to where they are? There is a lot of subject matter out there. I will write about it on a regular basis. I also have an autobiography coming out the summer of 2014. I will certainly keep you posted.
May I introduce myself?
Just reaching out to my Hubpage Family. I have been a journalist my entire life concentrating on news and sports. However at this point in my life I am focusing on some of the other finer things in the world, Including but not limited to the following:
- Health and Physical Fitness After Age 50.
- Parenting Tips On Raising Today's Children
- Pets and Animals
- Sports and Recreation
- Entertainment And Today's Media
I am originally from Michigan City, Indiana which is located on the beautiful southern shores of Lake Michigan. Just 55 miles east of Chicago. Nestled between Gary and South Bend, Indiana. I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Pre-Law. Bloomington-Normal is perhaps the best kept secret in the midwest. It is the corporate home of State Farm Insurance. The Twin-Cities have a total population of just over 100,000. The enrollment at ISU hovers around 19-21,000 students. The University prides itself of educating future teachers. It also loves it's athletic program in particular it's basketball team, which I was fortunate to have been a part of during the years 1972-1975. I was voted into the ISU Athletic Hall Of Fame in 1980. I look forward to writing about the many people, places and things I have experienced in life. I hope you will enjoy reading and I will look forward to following your hubs as well. So let's connect and get to know each other because there is so much to share and talk about.
