Country Ways
I've got the country in my own blood,
I love the rain and played in the mud.
Sitting on the porch at evening time,
Picking my guitar, and feeling so fine.
Those country days are in my heart,
My country ways, we'll never part.
For In my dreams, I'll always stay,
I'll be back in the country, every day,
When morning comes. I'm always there.
On those dirt roads, I run without a care.
That cool fresh breeze there is so pure,
A sweet smell of honeysuckle in the air.
Those country days are in my heart,
My country ways, we'll never part.
For in my dreams, I will always stay,
It'll be back in the country every day.
I took for granted all my country roots,
Wearing a cowboy hat, cowboy boots.
My blue jeans are worn, all full of holes,
Walk to the creek with my fishing poles.
Those country days are in my heart,
My country ways. we'll never part.
For in my dreams I will always stay,
I'll be back in the country every day.
One day I'll die, but I'm always proud,
Out in the country, there ain't no crowd.
I'll be so happy and I will never leave,
Beneath my trees, I shall never greave.
Those country days are in my heart,
My country ways, we'll never part.
For in my dreams I will always stay,
I'll be back in the country every day.
