How To Resolve Crime And Violence In Chicago

Updated on December 24, 2015

The mayor can’t stop the crime and violence.

Police can’t stop it either.

Religious leaders can’t stop it,

This black on black fever,

I don’t care for reading these rhymes,

I’m just trying to make some sense,

Let’s love each other and omit crimes,

And start anew from hence,

We’re a blessed kind of people,

But prone to put another down,

We’re to climb the highest steeple

And keep each other around,

Black on black, we smear each other,

Who else can we depend on?

We are falling my sister and brother,

This makes a very sad song.

Contented with who I am,

To do what I need to do,

I refuse to be part of a sham,

Rather be light shining with you,

The lack of love plaques our city

There is a lack of unity,

Disrespect is a low down pity,

We need more community,

So the love from God up high,

Can work if we take it to heart,

Giving crime and violence a goodbye

And give each other a heartier, new start.

Figure Why Does One Hate or Dislike Another

The key to breaking this hatred is to change by allowing the value of life to tread in our hearts. If we are disgruntled with anyone we need to be smart enough to know we will not always feel that way. We must immediately allow the love in our hearts to overrule. With love in our hearts we will feel that it is not worth it to hurt someone or even kill. We must try to figure out why we want to hate and kill. If drugs or alcohol makes or allows for one to do either of those then try to figure why take drugs and drink alcohol? There must be no love for self.

Don't Be Down With O.P.P. - Get Your Own

Have Respect For Other People's Property

There is a lack of respect for other people's property. A man or men must respect another man's wife and vise versa. Singles must respect married people especially once it is known that a person is married. I say this here because to disrespect this can cause a crime to happen as well. People are six feet underground because most of them did not know that with loose attitudes like these would lead them to their graves. Look at the video to the right. Life is open to everybody so be aware of what is going on. Don't hate. It's no too late to grab hold of the love that shines from God above.

Love's in Need Of Love Today

Surely Faith, link it. I don't know all those tricks but I want to be part of anything to help a fallen society of people survive.

Hi Faith, Thanks for leaving that wholesome comment of concern for a declining humanity. People have so much hate in their hearts that is hardly the problem anymore… Thanks for following me. I'm sure you'll enjoy what I have to offer here as well as I enjoy yours :-).

Powerful poem of truths here! The killing is senseless. It seems the value of another human life is not present any longer. There are good people out there trying to do their part, but it will take a whole lot more to overcome such evil in the hearts of men, and God can change hearts no doubt.

We have the same problems here in Montgomery and Birmingham as they do in Chicago and it is increasing day-by-day.

As a Nation we must turn back to God and pray for the hearts of men to change.

The Stevie Wonder song is perfect.

      Up and more and away

      God bless you always

Thanks Alphadogg16, Shyron and Tony55, It seems that people have no more value for life. Kids are constantly killing kids. They don't fight anymore. Boxing seems to have played out, unfortunately.

Word55, very nice... Although I don't think it will ever stop, being born & raised in Chicago, that is something I've seen my whole life.

      Word55, I felt you words,

      And share your feelings

About a city that I love

Just place your trust in the Lord above

And we can send the crime world reeling.

I came by to visit you today, word55, and acknowledge your poem, as we witnessed another unspeakably violent weekend in Chicago. I heard that 36 people alone we shot on Easter Sunday. We had a triple shooting here in DC on Easter as well.

So sad and tragic to see senseless violence attempt to mar the day of our risen Lord. Your poem speaks to the tragedy of the continued violence and our need for love. My poem hub on random violence offers the same message. I love your use of the Stevie Wonder song, a perfect video to carry your message home.

Thanks for the heart-felt poem and the attention to the hell-on-earth in Chicago. We just have to keep hope and prayer alive. Voted up.

Yes, jamiehamann, We need to spread the word. When the weather breaks here. It seems like open season on killing each other. That is so senseless. Thank you for your comment.
