"Love Is Deceitful" - Poetry
Love and Loss
If you have been following me, you know that I have come across a plethora of poems that my mother wrote when I was a child. I have read most; however, I have saved a few for another time. I share these with you because they seem to reach out to the masses, especially those who have had love and loss.

"Love Is Deceitful"
Like a willow, love is at first fragile
Naively coaxed to follow the breeze.
Gently its limbs seek the unknown
Coyly teasing any who are near.
With time it learns to deceive,
Creating a facade of candid devotion,
Concealing the ravages of its roots,
Stripping the essence of its being.
