Does Allah Really Hold the Love Equal to Seventy Mothers

Love of 70,mothers

Recently I heard people talking about how much Allah loves us and how he holds the love equal to 70 mothers, and when I said that there is n such hadith. They replied that even if the narration of holding the love of 70 mothers is not true, but yet its such a nice thing to know and spread this message. They seriously lack the knowledge in understanding the seriousness in their mistake.

1) "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." (112-4)

The very first point is so simple to understand and yet people make this hideous mistake even after knowing its meaning.

"And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." ( 112-4)

Who doesn't know this surah IKHLAS?. Even a child knows this surah and yet compare Allah with mothers. It doesn't matter even if you compare something to Allah 70 times, 1000 times or even million or trillion times. It's just pointless when you compare with ALL MIGHTY WHO IS PURE AND BEYOND WITH WHAT WE ASSOCIATE WITH HIM. Even if one says that "am not comparing Allah am just saying about His quality and am in no way comparing Allah with any physical appearance". ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? How can one even compare Allah to anything even to HIS attribute.

2) Attributes of Allah

You can't compare it to even any of the siffaats of Allah too. Comparing Allah physically is impossible as no one has seen Him. The names of Allah are used to describe his siffaats His attributes which HE HIMSELF has mentioned in Quran and the names of Allah which are mentioned by our Prophet in hadiths. So even His siffaats are incomparable.

3) “Al-Wadoud” (The All-Loving one)

Allah’s divine name “Al-Wadoud” (The All-Loving).

The saying of 70 mothers completely goes against an authentic hadith from BUKHARI.

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, Allah divided mercy into one-hundred parts and He kept its ninety-nine parts with Him and sent down its one part on the earth, and because of that, its one single part, His creations are Merciful to each other, so that even the mare lifts up its hoofs away from its baby animal, lest it should trample on it." (Book #73, Hadith #29). .

LOVE, KIND, GENEROUS etc. are all words which come under the meaning of MERCY.. so when hadith says that Allah sent only one part of mercy, which includes all the leaving creatures on EARTH from the time any being existed and till the time it will be destroyed.

Can any one find the limit of this just one part of mercy which Allah has sent on Earth. Definitely NO. So the love of 70 mothers is far far from that. love of ALLAH can't be COMPARED.


4) Righteous Predecessors

Another important point. We should only stick to the 'Salaf as-Saalih’, which means the 'Righteous Predecessors’. It refers specifically to the first three generations of Islam in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon HIM) described as being the best generations of Muslims. The first, the Prophet (PEACE BE UPON HIM) and his Sahaabah (companions). The second, the Taabi'een (the followers of the companions). The third, the Tabaa'at-Taabi'een (the followers of the followers of the companions).

Salafiyyah is understanding and adhering to Islam through the understanding of the RIGHTEOUS predecessors. So one should not take the sayings of anyone even if it's good. Because when someone starts using their intellect or ideology in deen then it's nothing but a deviation.
