Dancing Light

Updated on December 12, 2012

Dancing light

A ray of yellow sparkle

Weaving in and out of branches

I watch you flutter

Shadows and shapes emerge

As you bounce around

Hovering over a green carpet

The world embraces your tender touch

Resplendent with shining hues.

Dancing light

I long to follow you

To capture your essence

As you shine through wet spray

Emerging a vibrant spectrum

Red, orange, yellow, blue

The child in me yearns to twirl

Spinning freely without care

Wrapped in your colors.

Dancing light

I must leave you

Tomorrow I shall return

And be free once more

To live, laugh, love

In your warm embrace.
