Dancing at Sunrise
I wait
on that moment of light.
I perch;
this glimmer sets me in flight.
It comes,
bathing me in warmth and wonder.
I rise;
in response to this welcome thunder.
I bloom
and lean towards this feeling;
alive,
aflush, my senses reeling.
I quicken;
for this love I was created.
I bask
in your rays; I am elated.
We dance;
your shine brings me to life.
My heart:
free from the sadness of night.
He comes
and draws the curtains to.
I wilt;
in this grief my petals strew.
I bow
with the weight of this cross.
I wait
though time will not erase this loss.
