Deadly Toys

Updated on August 8, 2011

Deadly Toys

We're the aggressor

fighting a war

we have no business in

we like to play our games

with our dangerous toys

cost millions of lives

many hungry mouths

we've could've fed

We need our deadly toys

let the people starve

let them beg on the streets

We need our deadly toys

let the water fill with poison

let the air stifle our last breath

We need our deadly toys

the days are near an end

nights have only begun

people are dying everywhere

earth is dying, too

all the animals are disappearing

we torture the ones still alive

with our dangerous toys

We need deadly toys

let the earth shrivel and die

let the plants wilt and rot

We need our deadly toys

Thank you...thank you...thank you! I'm so sick of idiots banging the war drums under the asinine assumption that patriotism means militarism.

People who advocate military confrontation are, by and large, ignorant of the nature of modern warfare, which is no longer fought on battlefields, but, in the streets of cities where the vast majority of casualties are women and children. And Americans are comfortably ignorant of the environmental devastation caused by modern weapons.

Great poem that speaks urgent truth!

      Welcome to HubPages. :-)
