Debra
From the very beginning, her family objected strongly on her dating me.
They said that it has got to do with family background and that she will
have to suffer for the rest of her life if she were to be with me.
Due
to family's pressure, we quarrel every often. Though she loves me
deeply, but she always ask me:
"How deep is my love for her?
I am not
good with words, this often caused her to be very upset. With that
& the family's pressure, she often vent her anger on me. As for me, i
only endured in silence.
After a couple of years, i finally
graduated & decided to further my studies overseas. Before leaving, i
proposed to her:
"I'm not very good with words. But all I know
is that I love you. If you allow me, I will take care of you for the
rest of my life. As for your family, I'll try my best to talk them
round. Will you marry me?"
She agreed, & with my
determination, the family finally gave in & agreed to let us get
married. So before i left, we got engaged. She later joined the corporate field, while i was overseas. We shared our love through emails
& phone calls. Though it's hard, but we never thought of giving up.
One
day, while she was on her way to work, she was knocked down by a car,
she was unconscious and was in coma for 47hours. When she woke up in the
hospital, she saw her parents beside her bed. She realized that she was
badly injured. Seeing her mom crying, she wanted to comfort her. But
she realized that all that could come out of her mouth was just a sigh.
She has lost her voice.
The doctor said that the impact on her
brain has caused her to lose her voice. Listening to her parents'
comfort, but with nothing coming out from her, she broke down.During her
stay in hospital, it was just silent cry that companies her. Upon
reaching home, everything seemed to be the same. Except for the ringing
tone of the phone which pierced into her heart every time it rang.
She did not want to let me know and not wanting to be a burden to me,
she wrote a letter to me and said that she doesn’t want to wait any
longer. With that, she sent the ring back to me. In return, i sent
millions & millions of replies and countless of phone calls, all she
could do, besides crying, was still crying.
The parents decided
to move away, hoping that she could eventually forget everything and be
happy. With a new environment, she learned sign language & started a
new life. Telling herself everyday that she must forget me. One day, her
friend came and told her that i was back. She asked her not to let me
know what happened to her.
From then, there wasn't any more news
of me.A year passed and her friend went to see her with an envelope
containing an invitation card for my wedding. She was shattered but when
she opened the envelope, she saw her name in it instead. Debra the
bride and Jonah the groom
When she was about to ask her friend what's going on,
she saw me
standing in front of her. I used the sign language. I said,
"I've
spent a year learning sign language just to let you know that
I’ve not forgotten our promise.
"Let me have the chance to be your voice. I Love You."
With that, i slipped the ring back into her finger and she finally smiled.
Debra,
Let me be your sunshine
I will shine in your heart
You are my queen Debra
Let me be your voice
I will speak
for you
I will smile for you
I will do everything
Debra
You
are my queen Debra
Let me be the wonder
I will speak
for you
You are my rays of light
You are my everything
You are my everlasting love
