Depression Brings A Friend
Depression brings a friend today
Anxiety appears
She manacles my cortex
Chains of dreaded doubt
Flogging me with worry
Frustration,
No way out
Her cuts are pure precision
Tormenting my each thought
She walks away
Depression stays,
He says he’ll help me out
Dragged into the void again where I was before
I plead and beg for mercy,
He laughs and says no more
Taken to a mirror
I see my former self,
He tortures me relentlessly until I’m someone else.
Anxiety joins in again
I’m chained upon the floor
They say that they are waiting-,
A knock upon the door
I lie here in agony for my end is near
I look into his burning eyes,
His friends all call him Fear.
