Detour to No Where

Updated on February 1, 2014

It’s humorous how life turns out

You start on one road and then precipitously

You’re on a detour

Looking over your shoulder to change lanes

Reroute the course set the navigation

For happily ever after

Cruising along you now vision you’re back on the correct road

When suddenly you’re passing your destination

The exit sign now laughs at you from your review mirror

Once again you’re back on this tumultuous path

And there’s no end in sight

Put on the brakes back up and turn around

Instead of going in the right direction

You’re going in circles

Frustrated you come to a complete stop

Feeling defeated you question why you can’t

Get off this highway it’s as if happily ever after doesn’t exist

Resigned to that fact your rev up the engine

And continue On

Forgetting to set the navigation instead letting

The force that’s guiding you guide you home

Or maybe not…
