Dilemma of the Merfolk
Dilemma of the MerFolk
Two worlds sing us
A sirens song
And we are torn between:
Of Earth and Light
and legs running strong
Or tails that glide swiftt through night...
...Of Horizons moonbeam,
Sunshines fair stream
And hearts that beat
Fierce and true
Or...
Part warm, Part cold
With skin of gold
And tail of mossy scales...
Light and air!
And gardens fair!
... Depths of the Abyss
Men awake Longing...
Deeps pull our Desire
...To run, to laugh, to love, to kiss..
...To glide swif t through deaths deep byre
...Oh God! To dance!
Heart beating warm
Hot fire inside our breast
...With seduction to woo
With cold magic to lure
To tease men with phantom song…
Which am I?
Which is true?
Which will set me free?
To know ~ I must choose:
Or forever lose
My life to the Abyss
He calls to me
Yet I yearn to swim f ree.
One must tell a lie
Oh God save me
from this destiny
Give true Life to my desire.
