Do Not Weep When I Am Gone.

Updated on March 10, 2014

Celebrate Life.

Do not weep for me when l am gone,

Even though our friendship has lasted so long.

Remember the reasons that drew us so close.

The hilarious times, when no-one else saw the joke.

Please do not weep----- though hard to do,

Remember we are all just passing through.

From cradle to the grave, the outcome is the same,

Rich, poor, or Royal, Death cares not your name.

Or your title, possessions, nor position in life,

Death comes to all after long or short life.

Please do not weep, at least not for long.

We are all passing through and then we are gone.

We all walk the road of life ., yet we are just passing through
We all walk the road of life ., yet we are just passing through

Try to recall , when no-one was there.....

l.... there for you. You there for me...When no-one else cared.

We held each other up We laughed and we cried.

We clung close together, till crisis did subside.

Do not weep for long over me,

We're all passing through. It has to be.

Remember the good times., They were more than the bad.

We were happy, even carefree, more often than sad.

Like schoolgirls we'd giggle until our ribs ached.

And loved like close sisters.....loyal...with no break.

So please do not weep for me when l'm gone.

Who knows what's ahead, after just passing through.

Forever may bring our friendship anew.

Together, but just passing through.....
Together, but just passing through.....

Nice. I may not weep but send you love and positive vibrations. Not for tomorrow, no. Only at God's choice hour and then We will meet as one in the Higher spheres. Positive HUB! Impressive gate.

Dim, I was hesitant about reading this on first seeing it because I don't like to see you down. This fellow won't make that mistake again. A beautiful write of poetry this is. In the grand scheme of the Universe we just wear these spacesuits called bodies for a while. This poem of yours is uplifting and hopeful.

"Forever may bring our friendship anew."

I agree with the spirit of this wonderful poem. And also with Billy and Faith's comments. I want people to celebrate when I "pass through to beyond," for I will be there to welcome them when they do as well.

Well done Dim. So true that death knows no stranger. Come one, come all. We will all face it in time, lest the Lord returns before. I think a life well lived is certainly cause for celebration. Tears for the one we will miss, but celebration for the life that they lived. Thanks for sharing your work. Voted up and awesome :-)

Oh, how lovely! Yes, I hope there is a wonderful celebration of my life when I have gone on. You point out so well, that death does not discriminate for we all have to face this physical death to go on to eternity one day. That is why I have no fear of when I die, as I know to where I am headed! Beautiful imagery here too.

    Up and more and sharing

    Blessings,

    Faith Reaper

Friendships and family will continue on and we will meet again. As you point out so beautifully in this poem, we are all just passing through. When my turn comes, I'd like a joyful celebration of my life. Everyone giggling at all the funny things I've done, remembering all the fun times. Thanks Dim, for this wonderful poem. Love, Audrey

Beautiful work, Dim. I like this message. I want a good old fashioned Irish wake when I die...I want a party with music and laughter and good memories shared. :)
