Don't Answer

Updated on January 25, 2012

What ever happened to Ring, Ring

You grasp me tight and keep me close

I'm always on and handy

you know you can't do without me

because I am so dandy

Time, Music, Words, Connections

all flow from me like water,

You always said you would never have one

just because we were such a bother

Your wife, your mom, your son, your daughter

they all have one or two

until it rings or tones

they usually are blue

This device I would like

to grab and throw it in a pit

but I can't, mainly because

if it rings, I have to answer it.

Landlines can be annoying also. Could you live without your landline? Me..no way. Cellphone.. yes. I am oldstyle. I dont want to be attached to a phone waiting to hear from someone who may not call or text. Waiting is wasting your life away when there are many things you can do in life besides sitting by the phone or computer.

This was a great reminder as to what our lives have come to revolve around something we trust to keep us up to date and in contact. I don't think land line phones ever had quite that much power.

@ Mona, I think it is annoying I don't get on facebook or other media, I just use mine for boring calls.

the only problem is that nobody calls me.LOL

@Vixen, glad to hear from you. I only have mine for work, other wise... I would toss it .

I'm waiting for the next installment of Obamica.

      Much Love

@ Explorer, thank you for your feedback, I think I hit a nerve with alot of hubbers.

      Glad you liked the humor.

OK you get the award for best relating how I feel about that confounded machine! I loathe it. It does nothing but mock me and wake me up and get on my last nerve! Stellar poem about my most hated object...that I still have to pay for every month!

They certainly can be annoying. I don't have one myself and have other friends who do not. ah country living.!

I love the evocative title and the humour of the end. LOL

G,I would like to see some phone fanatics when the satellites go out and everyone has to go back to regular communication, like talking.

      Have a nice day.

Katrine, I know my wife can't...

Sometimes we don't talk for hours, because she is always got her face in facebook...But I guess thats a good thing too. LOL. thanks for the read.

      Morning Cleaner.

I think the name you are looking for is "Evolution". A sign of the times. Everything changes but not always for the good.
