Don't Pull When You Can Push
Clouds amble by drifting on the breeze,
dust billows up causing you to sneeze,
shadows seem to last where your footsteps once had lain,
an echoing thundery blast covers you with rain.
No one seems to see where your life has gone,
if only dreams were free to those that have no home,
lessons learned in life tend to sway like leaves,
all you get is strife no one else believes.
Where are you now the writings on the wall,
no one told you how to duck when branches fall,
is it such a pain to see others smile,
to hear that your insane at the bottom of the pile.
People seem to learn from others mistakes,
while friendships slowly burn and hearts race to break,
there's only one true friend whom you can rely,
yourself to the end alone we all must die.
Is it such a shame that people are often single,
who is it to blame when we refuse to mingle,
the only time we see a positive connection,
in the mirror of life we're free to view our reflection.
Can you hear the bird as it sings it's melody,
not all beauty's heard some of it we see,
can you feel the touch of the wind upon your face,
do we ask too much when we feel out of place.
Life just goes so fast before you know it's done,
nothings meant to last and then the race is run,
all that you can do is live it to the full,
every days brand new don't push when you can pull.
