Dreaming Again

You pulled me from the wreckage

Of my own wretched life

Showing me that I needed self-worth.

I am dreaming once again.

I haven’t dreamt in what seems like eons.

I look forward to dreaming of my future

Hopefully you are there with me.

You taught me how to love again

It took persistence but, I learned.

Giving my love unconditionally

Without my heart being bruised or battered

Was the greatest fear I had to conquer.

I’m not sure what the future holds but,

I truly believe that dreams can come true.

If it is meant to be I will be with you.

If it is not I hope you will always follow your dreams.

Do not let anyone prevent you from that, including me.

My only wish, if we’re not together is that

You live your life without regrets but not reckless.

The world is a much better place with you around.

No matter what, I want it to stay that way.

In the meantime, I’ll try and keep you happy.

We both know you’ve had it rough and

I just want to keep a smile on your face.
