Drifting on a Faded Memory
Rain drops dance against the window pane
In the distance the sound of thunder
Gives voice to its ascendancy
Lightening caresses the night
Wind cries out in hellacious voice
Inside a fire roars
Soft music plays in the background
A bottle of vintage wine waits lonely
The ambiance swallows up the room
Pictures rest above the fireplace
Faces looking back appear
Serene never been touched
By life’s malicious milieu
One photograph sits off
To the side by itself
Distant vague
You’re drawn to it
Yearning pulls you in
The eyes hold so many secrets
Stepping away that old melancholy
Feeling makes you sway
All those feelings you thought
You’d swept away under a rug
Rush in all over again
Remembering nights like this
Souls intertwined
Kismet spirits
Minds of unity
Beat of hearts
The caress of lips
Gentle exploration of hands
Oneness
Love
Thought that sensation would
Never come to an end
Sound of rain becomes louder
In an intrepid effort to drown
Out reminiscences
Reinventing scenarios
Holding on to something that’s not real
Nomadic remembrance
Gray mist collecting
Ancient reminisce
Muse over
Failure you cogitate
Dusty cobwebs Inhibit romancing
Reflection of love dying away
As the fire unhurriedly burns
To embers
Stillness
Calm
Peace
Silence
After the storm crescendo of
Emotions fade leaving you
Drifting on a faded memory
