Poetry:Drowning Humanity
Drowning Humanity
With a fresh rash of suicides, one wonders if it is our whole humanity drowning...
Sinking further down
Way down deep
Desperately treading
Not there to keep
Swallowing water
It fills my lungs
The pain is hot
Can’t see the sun
Further down I go
I scream out loud
No one here to save me
Death watched by crowds
Drowning in hate
Compassion dies too
You could have saved me
But you are you
Empty eyes stare on
Feeling no cold
Your heartless inside
I don’t need to be told
Breathing hard
Accepting One’s fate
Finally peace is found
On this very date
Sanity is useless
Humanity gone
No more hope
It’s been too long
Left here to suffer
Abandoned to die
With truth brings clarity
Refuse your lies
It is over
We have failed the test
No chance of redemptions
Our soul’s won’t rest
