E-mail Explosion
Overload
Technology is amazing
An interesting treasure and such a pleasure
There is also a beast that can hide
In every e-mail that is not erased
It sits and waits
Deep in your computer
As the pile grows
It clutters your mind just a little
Printed on an endless amount of computer space
Work e-mails and many other ones friends have sent
Some funny and interesting and neccessary I am sure
Every time you click you see your e-mails
Once just a few on a page now they lead a mile long
On occasion you hit delete but two often you start to save
It starts with one,two and three
Then it leads to 2,200 e-mails staring back at me
Soon each e-mail leads a trail
Of where you have been and what you found so interesting
So as I try to escape I hit delete, delete
They slowly erase
Now I have cut my e-mails down to 1,711
It's a good start
Two hours later I feel relieved of some old e-mails I really didn't need
Funny how little things start and soon they can get overwhelming
In a fast paced world where so many things are disposable
We have to constantly make choices what has to stay and what has to go
