Electric Light Symphony

Updated on August 4, 2013

Disclaimer

Some of the comments may not make sense if you are reading this hub for the first time.

The hub initially had great pictures, facts about fireflies and a video.

HP published it then unpublished it.

The warning I received: Duplicate content.

Thus, I stripped it of all the bells and whistles.

Beetle-Mania

Since my username is ocfireflies

You may have surmised

I like fireflies

Lightening bugs

Beetles with bellies that glow

Bright on summer evenings

But do you know

Why those bellies glow

It’s a love fest

Beetles blinking to

Their potential mates

Creating a spectacular show

Producing light

With relatively no heat

Yet accomplishing

What most lovers want

To recreate one of their own

Year after year

Fireworks without sound

Flames shooting this way

That way

Up then down

Females depositing

Eggs in the ground

Insuring that again next year

Loving can be seen

An electric light symphony

For all to see

Lovemaking in nature

A spectacular luminescence

Presence of energy

Meaning of life

Meeting that mate

You know is right

      Jodah,

Yeah. I am not always sure how to navigate the ins and outs of HP rules for they seem to lack consistency. Thank you for the votes and encouragement. Thanks for being you.

Another great firefly hub, and delightful poem Kim. I have had the same problem with one of my hubs and HP saying it had too much duplication. No change I made seemed to make any difference, so I ended up removing the hub all together. Anyway well done and voted up.

      BB,

No fireflies in WA! Is it not interesting how we take for granted certain things? Just like in your hub you wrote about seeing the world through the eyes of a child. I am glad that you have at least seen them before in Iowa. I wonder if there is some firefly dividing line where you see um and you don't.

      billybuck, Thank YOU!

We don't have fireflies here in the west, but I have fond memories of seeing them when I was a kid in Iowa....sigh! You captured it perfectly.

      cleaner3,

Thank you for reading and describing the hub as "awesome."

      RQ,

They are indeed really spectacular. Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful day as we now are over the hump. Smiles.

      Dearest Max,

      You make me blush.

      Jo,

I can only imagine what an incredible sight to see fireflies in the Caribbean. I have never been to the Caribbean and so it is in my mind a most magical place. Combine the magic of the Caribbean with the magic of the fireflies. WOW! Thanks for the vote/share.

Friends thanks so much for making my day.

My best to one and all,

      Kim

      Hi Kim;

A great title for a marvelous, informative article.( love The Beatles track ). I bet they're really spectacular to behold when dozens of those whizzy illuminations get together for their electric light orchestra :)

Thank you, and I hope you have a wonderful evening.

      Warm Regards,
