Elohim Our Creator

Updated on March 30, 2015

The opening drama of life begins with God as Elohim,

Elohim is a Hebrew term for Creator,

The Hebrew language is the only one that helps us to understand, and

Provides us with clarification of who created everything,

How do we miss this truth in the Book of Genesis?

That it is the Creator who created, do we know Him as Elohim?

As He opens life with the majesty of such a rich start

Inviting us into His world and opening life's door,

Giving to the creature everything needed to live here,

In the beginning God created, He is Elohim!

Elohim said, let there be light, and there was light,

He saw the light that it was good, and

He divided the light from the darkness,

Making it the first full day,

The Creator resides in abundant light,

There is no darkness where He abides,

Where does He live? In the brilliance of eternity,

We reside in time subject changes, He changes not!

Sin set in motion all the darkness,

As the earth was without form and void,

It was an empty space and place, and dark

Until Elohim filled it with His glory!

Now the earth is full of the glory of God,

Can you see His eternal light shining into time?

See beyond and pass the darkness,

Look to the light of the Creator, Elohim!

Every nation should know the Creator, and

Be thankful and praise Him as Creator,

I am grateful the Hebrew language gives us hope

Towards believing in God as our Creator.

We know Him as Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit

But do we realize that He is Creator, Elohim!

Greetings Dana: Yes, when Genesis 1 opens with, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. God here in Hebrew is Elohim, meaning Creator. There is so much for us to learn. Have a peaceful Resurrection Sunday!

Beautiful poem and perfect way to learn something new so close to Easter. I had no idea that Elohim in the Hebrew language meant the creator. Thanks for sharing that information.

Hi Jackie: I love your observation about God creating light on a different day, you are paying close attention to Elohim. Not only was it on a different day but on a different level. Light is so powerful, it makes the darkness flee. Have a great week!

I don't know Hebrew but I do know the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Did you notice God created light on a different day than the sun and moon? Beautiful testimony of your heart.

      Up and sharing.
