Life's Mysteries

Hiwaga

Enigma

Why is the mountain’s stature?

That I cannot measure

why is the depth of the sea ?

I cannot gauge intensely

why are the clouds soaring?

I am still searching

why my dreams are absurd?

It’s hard for me , unfurled

why are there many questions?

it creates a stanchion

I am always wondering

the answers to this inkling

but life is always lacking

it keeps us want more, craving

up to now I am striving hard

so I can reach the ultimate reward

despite all this struggle

life is always a battle

so here I am moving on,

facing life’s dangerous dungeon…

Bakit ang tayog ng bundok

Hindi ko maarok

bakit ang lalim ng dagat

hindi ko masukat?

bakit ang alapaaap

hindi ko mahagilap

bakit ang panaginip

hindi ko masilip?

bakit ang daming katanungan

pumasok sa aking isipan

lagi ko pinag nilay nilayan

ang lahat ng kasagutan

pero lagi nalang

sa buhay ay may kulang

hanggang ngayon aking pinagsikapan

ang tagumpay na makamtan

sa kabila ng lahat

ng pagpursige ay hindi sapat

kaya heto parin nakikibaka

sa buhay na puno ng pangamba

How is it to write the same piece in 2 languages? Such a fine piece in English and I noticed that your wrote it in you native language first--

oh, thank you for your concern WD Curry...we are fine here but i'm sad for those landslide victims and are still missing...

yes, the poem was originally written in my mother tongue though I am not a native speaker in Tagalog but it is taught in school...a friend suggested why not use my local language which is Bisaya?well, i still have to find time for it...thanks again for the honest comment...i appreciate it well...

I am concerned, you had an earthquake. I hope all is well. It is one of life's mysteries that we live in danger from our own source of life.

I appreciate the translation like the others. The rhythm is wonderful. English does it no justice.

Nice one with tagalog version. How about your local cebuano/visayan dialect version. Cheers

Yeah, I agree with you Susan...so the fruits of our labor are sweet...we struggle most of the times because we don't let go...we keep things that are meant for us...

Thank you for leaving a wonderful comment...

Yes, raciniwa, life's struggle is hard! My best friend and I are constantly asking one another, "Why does life have to be so hard?!?" I think perhaps so that the joys we experience will be that much more treasured and so we won't grow so comfortable here that we forget Heaven is our real home. Beautifully written!

Wondering and curiosity is blood that flows through life. Without those...we wither and die.

      Beautiful piece-I enjoyed!
