Start with just one day for YOU

All about me is putting yourself first. Doing activities just for your pleasure and complacency. This is your reward for reaching 'me time.' I'm thinking 65 and older. You do not have to be retired. Some people have a great and easy job that they thoroughly enjoy. The job hits all the All About Me hot points. This stepping stone in your life is the plateau to consider only what makes you happy. If working floats your boat, then by all means keep working. But take more fun time just for you. If it is 'me time,' lets look at options.

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” Eleanor Roosevelt

What does ME want? This is very personal but here are a few ideas. One day a week just for me. Starting with breakfast out or not. I eat breakfast everyday. It is an important meal. I'm not a fan of eating out. Eating a huge breakfast makes me tired and lazy. I want to be full of energy. I'll have my usual and head off for my rewarding choice.

Things I like to do

Museum visits are a favorite of mine. There are several small choices, say within 50 miles of your starting point. make a list and cross them off as you visit. Maybe one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Treat yourself to lunch. This could be take out at a beautiful park, a shoreline, or even a scenic rest spot. Or a sit down lunch at a restaurant that is also on your list.
You could spend days visiting spots at say, Providence, Miami, Chicago, or San Diego, etc. I thinking more like small unique places that peak your interest. Let me just highlight these four areas within the United States, but the world is your limit.

Ideas for you to think about

Starting in Providence, Rhode Island you have an outdoor beauty at Green Animal Topiary Garden. Originated in 1872, it is an amazing creation. The Fantastic Umbrella Factory is a tiny farm with bizarre items to see and purchase. .www.atlasobscura.com/things-to-do/rhode-island

Moving on south to Miami you will find American Clown Museum and School. There are over 700 pieces of clown memorabilia. A totally different spot is Wolf's Museum of Mystery. This is a collection of rare items from all over the world.

Heading north to Chicago you find American Toby Jug Museum. There are over 8000 chubby old guys dressed in every imaginable garb. The Busy Beaver Button museum has the usual campaign buttons, but also a rare unlimited selection of pin buttons.

On the west coast, we stop in San Diego at the Whaley House. Built in 1856 it is the 'most haunted' house in the United States. The San Diego Model Railroad Museum is the largest indoor model of railroad collections in the world.

Pick your local area or the visiting area and type/search 'unique museum of ....." You will be surprised at what is in your surrounding range. This is just one thing I like to do.

Do what makes you happy, be with who makes you smile, laugh as much as you breathe, and love as long as you live.” Rachel Ann Nunes

You are the most important person in your life

What are some activities that interest you? Fill in the blank. I've always wanted to learn to.....Knit--play an instrument--learn a foreign language--play a new sport--roller skate--sail--swim. The list goes on and on. Remember this is all about me.

College courses are offered at a discount of even free at some schools for citizens over 55. You can't get any credit or even a grade, you just learn.
Thinking just about you is totally different for some people. It may take some adjustment, but you are worth it

"The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – it’s all that matters." Audrey Hepburn
