Ever Now And Then
Ever now and then
When you're feeling blue
Don't forget now and then
Even winners lose
Fate steps in to have its way
The dreams you had just fade away
~
Ever now and then
Love affairs go wrong
And as time goes by
Heartaches come along
So brace your chin
To lose or win
Ever now and then
~
Even now and then
When the light burns low
And a ship gets lost
In the ebb and flow
Keep your eyes on the gentle shore
Till the dangers past and is no more
~
Ever now and then
You may lose your way
But the road ahead
Will be a brighter day
Sway and bend
To the wayward wind
Ever now and then

This is so elegantly said - the gentle cadence of poetry and the inspiring thought within are so refreshing.
But the road ahead
Will be a brighter day
Sway and bend
To the wayward wind
Ever now and then
thank you for brightening my day.
Three words: Simple, Sound and Beautiful! I really loved this poem as if I reading William Wordsworth's 'Daffodils' Thanks for reminding me of my childhood, Ann :)

Hi Ann
Wonderful and inspirational.
Voted up and away!
Your iambic pentameter is just on point in every way, I love your style of poetic sway, its so rhythmic and flows naturally. Great job!
Voted up! and getting shared immediately. Oh and lovely boat image there that one is priceless!
Ann, What a gently philosophical, lively, lyrical poetic tribute to the ebbs and flows, valleys and mountains in life! In particular, I like the connection between the opening photograph and your third stanza. This reads as much a song as a poem!
Respectfully, and with many thanks for sharing, Derdriu
Hello Ann. What a well stated position in how to approach life. Voted up.
I'm glad I read your poem today cause I'm feeling a tiny bit "down". Maybe it's the rainy weather we're having...Thanks....
thanks for the inspiration.tuff times do not last- tuff people do and only because they know that they are stronger than the tuff times.
keep your chin up Ann.
We all get down on life sometimes. Enjoyed your poem very much.
Awesome poem! These are words to live by.
Even a giant oak bends with the wind. Thank you for reminding me of these things.
Sway and Bend to the wayward wind. I love this line it sums up your poem beautifully. I enjoyed the read. Thank you.
ann....Yes, life goes on....we're up, we're down and in reality, never know what awaits us around every corner. To be ready and willing to come face to face with all life presents to us, is the only way we can ride the waves smoothly. Great poem.
This is a so-true poem. Beautiful.
Voted up and awesome. Wonderful poem such beautiful words. Loved it.

Wonderful poem, "sway and bend to the wayward wind", great images and real stuff about this life we live. Up, beautiful, awesome!
This keeps life in perspective, you have to expect a little rain once in awhile. We all grow a little stronger from the experience.
Ann, this is an awesome poem. I hope this hasn't happen to you.
What happened to Gary I don't see anything from him?
