Everlasting Hammer

Updated on July 6, 2012
Everlasting
Pride
Honor
Perfection
Ideal Figure
Pampered
Peoples Words
Unlike the thoughts of your own
Misguided
Agility
Fueled by Hate
Nails
The hammer
Pain that soon follows
a band-aid
For a bullet wound
Paper cuts
Seem to be the most painful
Thinking backwards
Regret
Time ticks away
The path
Forgotten
Foot steps
A decent pace
Running
Without reason
Power
Without possession
Interest
Without payment
These are things
That don't happen
Chance
Idols
Doubt
worries
poverty
Vivid in the eyes of the powerless
Smoke
Burning buildings
Burning toxins
In our homes
In our lungs
People stopping
Paying tribute
Looking down on the ones they loved
Broken Glass
The hand that shattered it
Past tense
Abandonment
Payday
Idiot's Parade
Again
We forget
The hammer
Blood
Scars
The healing
recovery
A life
Everlasting

A very different poem to say the least. Has a great and continuous motion to it.

Tanks for the compliments. I love using symbols and metaphors because they don't give everything away. They allow the reader to see a piece of poetry or writing through their own eyes and experiences. Its interesting to me to hear different interpretations. Thanks for reading!
