Tree Man

I saw a tree man dreaming

down a lonely lane.

I stopped to ask him

can you tell me.

Tell me, which way I came.

Answer

I didn't get an answer

I didn't hear a thing.

Just a tree stump lonely.

Lonely in the shadows

of the churches clock.

Rock

The only voice I heard

was the iron door of heaven

heaving like a rock.

I asked once more,

can you tell me,

tell me, which way I came.

Angel

Is this the heavenly way.?

Then I heard an angel.

Heard an angel sing.

Lonely

Your lonely in the shadows

of the old church clock.

If you listen quietly

you'll hear the iron door of heaven

heaving like a rock.

Rather like my walks sometimes. I listen to the wind, the clouds, trees, critters and my purple lizard. I think you may have a lizard too, and a skinny soul seeking nourishment.

I think trees win every time and my lizards are all free souls who wander in and around the house in france...thanks charlie

I really love this poem! I guess I'm an often lonely tree man myself!

      Love and peace
