FEAR NEW, OLD and LASTING
Times of fear new~
Times of old fears that last~
Times of worry that make you blue~
Thank goodness most do pass.
In an old farm house~
At night~
About three in the eve~
Is when the goblins come out~
They seem none too pleased.
I often a woke to dread~
I panicked running to my parents bed~
Very frantic with them I would plead~
To rest my head so I could peacefully sleep.
Maybe you too~
Have felt this foreboding~
That stole your ease~
Disquieted your slumber~
As spirits seemed to creep?
In the past one or two movies~
Did horrify me~
Scared my psyche so much~
I wished I had never seen!
I am still disquieted~
Damaged and in trepidation~
Not showering alone in my home~
From worry, fear and that left over consternation.
Do you remember the films~
Which filled you with overload of fear? ~
What if it could happen? ~
What if Satan could also be near?
Concern can bring on anxiety~
Fright can take hold~
I could be afraid of you and~
The love you hold so cold.
Have you known such people~
Whom utilize the upper hand? ~
Who need to have it their way? ~
Or they’ll kick you to the sidelines~
Like you are a useless empty can? ~
Their shallowness can stun you~
Making you quiver with madness~
Until take it no more~
You throw in your plans~
Of that particular happiness.
Sometimes it comes in attractive packages~
Many can be fooled~
Of these you need to defend~
For abuse and fear in this case~
Never sees a happy end.
Some people have just apprehension~
As in others more wild alarms go off~
It could be just washing their hands routinely a lot.
Giving them a living nightmare~
A phobia is there constant plight~
Making it for everyone rough~
Infecting innocent lives.
Perhaps you know these people~
Who must have uncanny control~
As well you might be a sweet soul~
Whom their temper has happened to unfold.
Fear can handicap you~
It stifles what you could be~
It can hinder you~
From being completely free!
No matter your fear~
Or of other’s fears around~
We must acknowledge them~
So less harm is to be found.
Times of fear new~
Times of old fears that last~
Times of worry that make you blue~
Thank goodness most do pass.
