Sometimes fate chigger-bites

And times life differently.

So no need for worst case

To by-pass disappointment.

Welcoming whatever IS

Works just as well.

It's what must be.

How intriguing to see

What fate will do.

Had hope not risked it

Never be known

What's known now,

The joy, the thrill of loving.

Finding ultimate,

At least, deferment.

_____© Nellieanna H. Hay

Imagination falters,

Waiting for reality.

Love that's sensed

But never felt

Assumes a form

Requiring less

~ Encounter.

Mere fantasy

Invalidates release

From it.

So then invades

Real imagery once more.

Perhaps reality

Comes formless,

Yet more real.

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

How good it is

To be free inside

Compared to what

It's been.

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

Varies, tarries

Stretches far.

But melts

Where hearts meet

In between

A distance

Out of time.

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

You are, essentially,

And moonlight flow

On balmy sea.

Whatever errant wind

Flickers your flame,

Fragments your beam

Attempting to

Intrude and de-create

The essence of you

Is merely momentary.

Life resumes

Its glow, its flow

As though uninterrupted.

This is clear through eyes

Half-blind to all but Life,

The only eyes I have.

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

Part of loving you

Was, from the first,

A bondless bond.

Never need to think

"Is it enough?"

Or "Will it last?"

Yet perhaps, at times,

Too much

But what it is, - is.

Cannot be made so

Nor can it be made - not.

It abides.

It always warms my soul.

Charmed circle

Close to my heart.

Enter at your own risk.

Be prepared

For unscheduled

Flights of fancy!

Jim - I hope she is. At one time I truly felt my poetic mission was to bring some closure to her work, which was so sweeping, vast, & unlimited; - and to her life, which was so contained and narrowly extended. But I came to realize that it's probably the other way around! lol.

      Thank you!

Ken, dear friend and fellow poet - thank you.

Yes we each has a Kismet - and we are on it. The Flights of Fancy punctuate it but the main sentences are always in it.

You HAD to continue with your work. If I encouraged it, it was like a breeze to a tsunami. :-)

The first thing that caught my attention are the joyful visuals! What colour! I virtually danced down the page, reading line after line like a butterfly, the words sweet nectar. As always, I feel refreshed after reading your work, dear Nellieanna.

It always amazes me and wakens all my senses, for you are a master wordsmith and I am humbled by the majesty of your flights of fancy. I have loved and been loved, felt the breezes of contentment, yet lost much. I believe in KISMET and we all have one. What flights of fancy this poet will venture on? he has no idea. Yet to have met you here at the Hubs and from day one have immersed ourselves in sharing our work and love to others. I thank you dear Nellieanna for being inspired by you to continue on with my work, in many ways you have been a Muse to me and for that I am very grateful. Hugs, voted UP and Shared as always.

I also see that your name is Devita. Do you mind if I address you by it? It's such a pretty name!

I'm pleased that you like my poetry hub! Thank you for the visit!

Hi Nellieanna, such beautiful words. I remember reading Emily Dickinson's work in highschool. I look forward to reading more of your work & books as well. Have a good night.

Hi, again! I admire your comments on others' hubs, too.

Hope - ah yes. You may know that Emily Dickinson is my muse and hope is the subject of one of her poems:

"Hope" is the thing with feathers—

      That perches in the soul—

And sings the tune without the words—

And never stops—at all—

      And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—

And sore must be the storm—

That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—

      And on the strangest Sea—

      Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

Marlene - I love your comments! It's so good to hear you reflecting my words back, enhanced with your understanding!

Loving bondlessly is amazing. It's similar to unconditionally, but perhaps more effortlessly. It doesn't depend on conditions, for sure. Possessiveness has NO place in it.

Thank you for the lovely visit and compliments!

You are a true poet! Your work is exceptional. I love the way these poems flow. quoting some of the lines in your poem.. " Had hope not risked it never be known, what's known now, the joy, the thrill of living." This is so true and reminds me of the quote it's better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all. " Distance melts where hearts meet." so true, defenses come down. And the ending I loved. you never questioned that love since there was that bond right from the start. You just felt it, you knew it from that moment. It is what it is. this is my interpretation. Voting up! awesome, beautiful.

Shauna, what a lovely comment! Yes, our butterflies emerge from ugly cocoon life, and we fly free! Not bad at all! But we do need to keep the image alive!

Thank you for the visit, insightful input & lovely compliment!

Wow! I can't comment on any one of your poems because each one spoke to me. I think what I really got from your soul was the verbiage inside the butterfly: 'The music that I listen for is the silent sound of you'. We need to read that over and over again until it is embedded in our souls and results in the beautiful wings of the butterfly who is emerging in spendor after going through life as an ugly duckling!

      Awesome expressions!

Mary, dear friend -- I'm honored! Your visits always remind me what a wondrous place this HP is, ever since we met on "The Journey"! It really is one amazing journey here, too! Thank you! Hope you're safe after the horrid storm up there and that 2013 is a G-R-E-A-T year for you!

Leslie! You're delightful, as always! I really wouldn't wonder whether you've had a wonderful flight! The breeze it stirs always alerts me! I believe in the power of he universe too - and that it doesn't depend on my belief but I may depend on my trust in it! Some might call it faith. Either way - to oppose it is really idiotic - maybe a definetion of sin. Either way -- being open is vital. Possibilities may turn out 'either way' - but without them, it's static, non-alive. Not the way to spend one's century on earth, IMHO. :-)

Thank you dear heart for the visit, comments and up/share! Hugs.
