FRESH WATER BEACH
I went to the fresh water beach today~
There were many different smells, sounds, and sights to see~
As I sat in the bright sun trying to get a tan~
It all thrilled, and tantalized little old me.
There was a coco butter smell that struck me at first~
Than the aroma of hot dogs and hamburgers cooking on the grills.
The sand was scorching to my feet~
But soon as I soaked them in the water~
They didn’t bother me.
There were all types of people there~
Coming and going~
Some were in the water~
Others baking in the sun~
Just as many stayed in the shade looking like~
They were having just as much fun.
Children were swimming~
As well as building in the sand~
Mothers and Fathers held on to toddlers tiny little hands.
Some of the children were playing catch on the beach~
They ran around kicking sand up from their feet.
On the side of the beach~
Canoes and kayaks were launched~
Paddlers were paddling~
As others just watched.
To the other side of the beach~
Stood little girls and boys trying to fish~
Others sloshed around trying to catch minnows with their hands~
While others were more lucky catching them with buckets and pans.
The lifeguards sat attentive~
Most of them with dark bronzed skin~
One was out in the water on a surf board~
Keeping an eye on the dock while people jumped off and in.
There were umbrellas and chairs of many different fun colors~
Blankets and towels of all different patterns~
There were books being read~
And children being fed.
All these things happening at once~
Was quite a sight to see~
As I sat in the sun it all occupied me.
There was so much happening~
An overabundance for me now to tell~
I will have to write this all again~
To be able to relate it to you totally well.
I went to the fresh water beach today~
There were many different smells, sounds, and sights to see~
As I sat in the bright sun trying to get a tan~
It all thrilled, and tantalized little old me.
