Full-Moon Fare
By: Wayne Brown
(Writer's Note: Ms. Lalesu asked for this one to celebrate a junk-food full-moon night. What could I do but paint it for her and share it with you! WB)
It was a hot July night on the full of the moon
Baby and I went to eat at the Old Silver Spoon
The specials were listed on the sidewalk strip
Twinkies, tortellini, cheesecake and chips
I got a case of hungry on that full-moon night
The cupboard was bare, no food was in sight
So I jumped into my car and off to the store I rips
For Twinkies, tortellini, cheesecake, and chips
Baby and I were in the country to see the full moon
When I opened our basket, why I started to swoon
Inside it packed with some sweet tea to sip
There was Twinkies, tortellini, cheesecake n’ chips
Baby and me under a full-moon, in love we did fall
I promised her diamonds, money, cradle and all
After the wedding, for the banquet they will flip
Eyeing those Twinkie, tortellini, cheesecake n’ chips
The full-moon brings romance; a young’un or more
They grow up so fast crawlin’ round on that floor
It’s all about nourishment so for you here’s a tip
Feed ‘em Twinkies, tortellini, cheesecake n’ chips
Now me and Baby’s been hitched a full-moon or two
Been married longer than you, you, and yes, you
She no longer cooks and I don't give her no bad lip
Eatin’ my Twinkies, tortellini, cheesecake n’ chips
Under the full moon, we celebrate our 10th anniversary
We’ll dance til the early dawn; moonbeams in the tree
And when our hunger rises from our light-footed trips
We’ll dine on Twinkies, tortellini, cheesecake n’ chips
