Faded Memory (Poetry)

Updated on April 5, 2013

You tried to cast your spell
But your spell didn't break me
Your spell didn't cave me.
I wept a few tears
But your spell didn't take me.

I'm a survivor
Survival the true essence
Of my core
I may have let my guard down
But I was always ready for war

You brought out a side of me
That I pray no one else has to see
It's no wonder
All you saw
Was a real life horror story.

You called me a nightmare
I hope I haunted all your dreams
You called me bad medicine
I hope I was an incurable disease

You tried to run your game
You tried to play me
But in this story I call life
You're nothing more
Than a faded memory

The title caught my eye. As many matters of the heart as I've been through I have yet to decide somebody isn't allowed to be within me anymore. I forgot the feeling. It was refreshing to read... reminds one of space that was once occupied.

Can't put my finger on it. Your poetry is transforming, (positively).
