Faith, Hope, and Charity ( inspirational poetry)

Updated on January 22, 2015
Faith, hope, and charity...
Faith, hope, and charity...
Faith and hope instilled within us since the dawning of time...
Faith and hope instilled within us since the dawning of time...
With faith and hope. we have a fine future to await us all...
With faith and hope. we have a fine future to await us all...
We have faith in a God in Heaven...
We have faith in a God in Heaven...
Our futures might seem bleak without a strong faith and hope...
Our futures might seem bleak without a strong faith and hope...
We give of ourselves in charity...
We give of ourselves in charity...
Faith brings its finest dawning...
Faith brings its finest dawning...
The Lord God returns his charity to us in kind...his amazing grace...
The Lord God returns his charity to us in kind...his amazing grace...

Of all the finest qualities, is those of the human spirit,

To be our faiths, as we have hope, and ours to share it.

And by the honors of these, for our own human kind,

A wonderful future awaits everyone, and is ours to find.

A strongest faith, we all must have, just as in our hope,

For the best futures, and of charity, that of our giving.

Each a component, and is to be the best of us all,

The heart felt love, in this world of the living.

Faith comes from deep down within each of us,

The bright shining spirit, and for this we trust.

Hope comes about as its finest of companions,

A form of true grit, that of all great champions.

Charity, is found from hearts, inside us each,

The giving, without regrets, all is within our reach.

A placing of our own feet, in shoes of a brother,

The shining example of our caring for one another.

As his creation in this, and our final proclamation,

Do we not owe a greatest reverence, an ovation?

Should we then to celebrate in grandest jubilation,

Our trust and happiness, to reflect our affirmation.

In faith, is a God in Heaven, there for all to see,

With hope, we seek his love, joining him soon, to be.

A precious gift to everyone, is his celestial fraternity,

The essence of the meaning, is this truest charity.

In great jubilation we receive his love...

1 Cor. 13.13 is of the essence, whether is is read in the older translation as 'charity', or a more recent one as 'love'. It's the climax of a very popular reading at weddings, but it goes so much deeper than that, as you point out. A beautiful poem. Voted up.

"... celebrate in grandest jubilation, Our trust and happiness..." Certainly the three greatest virtues, faith, hope, and charity (aka love). You have written of them well in a beautiful poem. Your words tell of the trueness in each virtue.

Voted up, useful, awesome, and interesting.
