Fall Into Winter
Fall Into Winter
Waking up in Fall wondering if the sun will shine
The summer is gone all the clouds are left behind
Hoping there is no rain, mother nature, please be kind
I dress in the clothes that prepare me for it all
Walking out the door, I begin to stand tall
Step after step no matter my destination
Avoiding the puddles, resulting from precipitation
My shoes separate the ground from my feet
Without them, the hard cement my feet would meet
The trees above me rise, reaching to the sky
But to their beautiful leaves they must say goodbye
Changing to wondrous colors before they say adieu
Floating to the ground, away from the place they grew
October 22, near the ides of Autumn
The dark storm clouds are the things i run from
It's useless, I hear the thunder clap like a monstrous drum
The rain descends and reaches me moments later
Lightning flashes, thunder's everlong participater
Times like these I find myself wishing I was quicker
Until then I'll endure it and wait for Winter
