Falling Fast

Updated on October 18, 2013
Cosmos
Cosmos

Falling hard and falling fast
The floor seems to be moving
The clouds in sky go spinning past
Some days your mind feels loosing

The heart it sways and shifts around
Till you wonder how your listening
Each beat louldy and clear resounds
Tears in your eyes glistening

Knowing the path that lies ahead
Is full of rocks and bolders
The weight now of the world it leans
Solid on your shoulders

You know what it is that must be done
And how it is you must do it
Can't just turn and quickly run
You have to walk to prove it

And so each day you plan and dream
Outlining every step
As not your life to start careening
Over steep slopes and cliffs

There is a goal you remind yourself
One that is worth attaining
As you take from off the shelf
All history remaining

Keeping only the most precious
Of lifes sweet memories
All others left behind us
Useless momentos be

And looking up into the sky
Just one star shows its gleeming
We remember just exactly why
This path we've been creating
