Falling Out of Love

Updated on November 9, 2012

I'm falling out of love

Slowly falling out of love

With you

The leaves are dying

My love

I'm falling out of love

With you

What we had before

Is no more

All the light

All the joy

Turned into darkness

And despair

It saddens me

Beyond belief

That it had to happen

This way

But I am trying

To accept it

You don't act like you

Love me anymore

I feel alone

All the time

Even with you there

Where did you go

You just

Disappeared

That is such a sad, desolate feeling. Having been there, I can relate. Up!

This is not depressing at all to me. It is closure and moving on up. I am a wacked out old man, and the greatest thing my lovers ever did for me was let me go. So I kinda like to say Jumping out of love. But I get it some folks can't let go.

Believe it,many many moons ago, a boy who was me did this. A mistake that haunts me again.

Ahh, love , the many forms we look for it and when we find it it always isn't what we thought it would be. The questions that we always ask ourselves. is it them or is it me .??

Very beautiful poem, Caroline, the song too. It has happened to me, more than once, but just suddenly you know, and you finally start...falling out of love....

It is a wee bit frightening how easily one can fall out of love...

almost as quickly as one fell into it..

the heart is a tender entity - it bruises so easily..

      love your style, Caroline..

Direct and to the point - yet - so beautifully woven!

      me gusta!

A great description of an uncomfortable position to be in - in poetry, too. Enjoyed it.

Oh my creative friend. Haven't we all experienced the pain in our heart when we realize what we originally fell in love with has faded away. Heartbreak and so honest and in tune.

      Great job

......I think I know this feeling right now - sweet Caroline - as always you write with your delicate heart and your mind guides you in writing these beautiful words - sending you warm wishes and good energy from lake erie time ontario canada at 11:11am with first cup of coffee, some nice baroque music, a glorious day of sun with my two cats outside and time for a walk on my beach -although I still consider November the gateway month to winter ...

A beautifully penned poem! Your words are simple, yet so powerful! Writing lets you express your broken heart better than any other way. I love this so much, I have to share!
