Familiar Window (poem)
I past familiar window when I heard
A melody made somewhere in a past
A song of precious dreams which once were cast
By lovers casting kisses there were stirred
-
And of these kisses some chose to remain
Beside the window which once gave them wings
This place from which another’s voice now sings
The strains which sends them rushing back again
-
I grew and yet it’s still so far away
This window which brought fantasy in view
And listened to this song once sung for you
So sweetly it returns to me today
-
Forgive me window all I have is tears
For the moments you kept warm for years
