Farewell (a poem)

Updated on January 23, 2013

We recently had a friend to stay, and when he left the house was so quiet! We really missed him. So I sat down and wrote this poem.

I hope you enjoy it.

A Silence

All pervading

Dominates this place

Now you are gone.

It spreads

Its wings abroad

Like a black shroud

Leaving us bereft.

A bereavement

Profound and deep

A deafening intensity

Of solitude.

So! You are there

And we are here

Yet grateful

For times shared.
