Father Abraham

Updated on October 12, 2014

Written in a very trying time.

I woke up this morning, got a message that wasn't too clear

Don't like the sound of what's been ringing in my ear.

I'm gonna get a visit just to give me a little cheer

Woke up this morning and I needed to get clear

Father Abraham won't you come and rescue me

I've twisted and I've turned and I cannot get free

I've cried to the heavens above oh please have mercy on me

Oh Father Abraham please tell them to let me be

There was a knock on the door and it went right through my soul

I wanted to find a shovel and bury me in a hole

Fire and brimstone were all that I could see

I went to the well and fell in and I need to be free

I woke up this morning and wished that I was dead

Can't take one more drop of rain upon my head

I feel the breathing of the man who's after me

I'm begging and I'm pleading but he won't let me be
