Fear- A poem by: Latanya Williams
A poem of one's personal struggle
Fear
There a mad man in my room;
I can’t sleep at night;
I’m so afraid of the dark;
I can’t bear to turn off the lights;
I pray to the Lord;
Please hear my prayers;
Make this man go away quick;
Make this fool disappear;
I hear the whisper of his voice;
Deep dark tone;
A coward in the night;
Lying here all alone;
No shelter, No mom;
To keep safe from harm;
He moving close to me;
And I feel all alarm;
He’s breathing down my neck;
My sweat becomes my tears;
Devouring my past as my conscience becomes my fear;
Don’t know about tomorrow;
Lord please let me see;
That the angry person in the room; is no other, but me!
