I should not be allowed to play with matches

Look what I have done

An innocent playful repartee

Ignited into something more

Sparks felt and shrugged off

Such a raging inferno unforeseen

A subtle warming my intent

Now your fiery passion frightens

And yet intrigues

I can not look away

I can not step in

Lest I be wholly consumed

And lose all sense

When the fire dims as they all do

Is the debt of the lost forest mine to pay

And when the fuel is finally spent

Will cold exhausted ash remain

Or will forever

Warm embers smile

Shamel, I'm glad you like it!

Ralwus, ya we'd be a lethal pair Chris and I. Couple of pyromaniacs.

Ya Brenda, its only a poem :) But the premise is true. Feminine wiles can be a potent thing.

Thanks AIDY. I didn't take this photo, if thats what you're asking. Its from flickr. I started the poem weeks ago when my writers block set in. I think I got my groove back now though. I have another ready to publish tomorrow.

Ya, you shouldn't play with matches either!

I hope your right Chris. I still have a half a dozen unfinished poems on my desktop.

This is ember-assing. You know I have a problem with fire.

Seriously, this is very nice. Your recent triumph has unblocked the poetress. What wonderful imagery and feeling. It's hot!

Trooper I knew what you meant. The real truth behind any of my poems is usually only understood by me.

You ooze poetry Invictus. Although in my case, flowers of reason can't even seem to grow in the same town when I'm impassioned. ;)

I think warm embers can smile forever, Randy.

Forests' blaze, passions play, and in between lays the beautiful flowers of reason. ; )
