Fisherman's Eyes
Fisherman’s Eyes
The other day I spoke to a fish out of water,
Who saw a monkey running from a lion.
I looked up into the sky,
Where I saw the lights beyond the clouds;
And hitched a ride on the Milky-Way,
To a satellite to broadcast my experience,
I couldn’t be the only one.
Everything went dark till I opened my eyes
And I was buzzing around the lion’s tail.
I felt my feet hit the ground,
Heard a roar behind me,
I saw the great beast coming my way.
I touched the water and felt at home.
I saw a worm and went for it,
My body began to rise at the end of a line;
I swear I saw my reflection in the fisherman’s eyes.
